In Uncertainty of the Past No.5, historical imagery survives only as the outline of a tower and distant terrain, no longer capable of anchoring time or event. Translucent forms fracture and drift across the surface, like hollow remnants produced through repeated acts of viewing. Dark voids edged with color neither obscure nor emphasize, but mark the continual displacement of memory. The image no longer asks what once happened; instead, it presents a condition without reference—the past detached from history and unrecovered by the present, suspended solely as a residual trace.
