古代宫廷绘画中有一种装饰性极强的花鸟画表现样式，主要特点是以一种特殊色调的蓝色为花鸟画做底色，称之为“装堂花”或“铺殿花”。 

此颜色的调制，敷色方法几近失传，画家以多重复合色经年实践，调制出一种非青非绿的色彩，用以铺染画面底色，绘制过程中须一丝不苟，多层敷染，使得画面效果极具视觉感染力。

画家最早把此色用于佛释绘画之上，因此给此色取名为“梵青”。

此图题材祥瑞，颜色大胆组合，极尽妍美，是画家“梵青”系列花鸟画”的典型面目。

In the ancient court paintings, there was a highly decorative style of depicting flowers and birds, characterized by using a special shade of blue as the background color, known as "zhuang tang hua" or "pu dian hua" in Chinese.

The formulation and application of this color have nearly been lost, and artists, through years of practice and layering, have created a color that is neither blue nor green. This color is used to lay the base for the painting, and the process of application requires meticulous attention and multiple layers, resulting in a visually impactful effect.

Originally, artists first applied this color to Buddhist paintings, hence naming it "Fan Qing."

The theme of this painting is auspicious, with bold color combinations, exuding a graceful and beautiful charm. It represents a typical example of the artist's "Fan Qing" series of flower and bird paintings.
