耿斌先生幼承家学，有一个良好的学习氛围，有坚实的书法基础，特别是打下了很好的楷书基础。耿彬先生的父亲深谙书画之道，并广交名家。耿彬先生自少年时代起，便受诸多时贤的熏陶，其中，得益于金棻先生、陈左黄先生的最多。金先生口传手教，示范、点拨、正误、解疑。耿彬先生研习汉碑。传世汉碑庄重、质朴，突出的特点是气厚。新出土的汉简率意、灵活，笔锋显现，流露出才气，也令人感受到行笔的自如。耿彬先生保留了汉人的气厚，加入了自己的才情，转折之间，出锋、藏锋之间，任意挥洒。
