《道德经》第五十一章 道生之，德畜之，物形之，器成之。是以万物莫不尊道而贵德。道之尊，德之贵，夫莫之爵而常自然。故道生之，德畜之；长之育之，亭之毒之，养之覆之。生而不有，为而不恃，长而不宰。 是谓玄德

Chapter 51 of the Tao Te Ching: The Tao gives birth to them, Virtue nurtures them, Matter shapes them, Environment perfects them. Therefore, all things respect the Tao and value Virtue. The reverence for the Tao and the value of Virtue, no one commands them but they constantly occur naturally. Thus, the Tao gives birth to them, Virtue nurtures them; develops them, grows them, nurtures them, protects them, and supports them. They are born but not possessed, act but not depend on it, grow but do not dominate. This is what is called mysterious virtue.
