Boundless Dialogue – Wang Hao Ink Art Exhibition will open in July 2025 at YM Art Gallery in Toronto.
On July 4, 2025, the Boundless Dialogue – Wang Hao Ink Art Exhibition, jointly organized by the Canadian Institute for Eastern Western Art & Culture and YM Art Gallery, will grandly open in Toronto. This marks Chinese contemporary artist Wang Hao’s first solo exhibition in Canada. The exhibition will run until July 11 and will be held at YM Art Gallery in Richmond Hill, Toronto.
The exhibition features over 40 of Wang Hao’s recent works created in Toronto, spanning a range of media including contemporary ink painting, canvas works, ink-based Chinese characters, and sculpture. These works showcase the artist’s experimental visual language that bridges tradition and modernity, as well as Eastern and Western cultures.
Titled Boundless Dialogue, the exhibition aims to break down fixed cultural boundaries and provoke deep reflection on the essence of art. According to Wang Hao, "boundless" implies openness without limitation, while "dialogue" symbolizes cultural integration. As he states in his work: “Culture knows no boundaries; thoughts should flow freely.”
As a professional artist active in China, Korea, and Canada, Wang Hao’s practice reflects both a rootedness in Eastern cultural heritage and a global perspective. He skillfully uses ink as a medium to transform lines, images, energy, void, and substance into a unique spiritual language. His works inherit the philosophical depth of Chinese tradition while employing contemporary modes of expression that speak directly to the soul.
The opening ceremony will take place at 2:00 p.m. on July 4, featuring a live improvisational performance of traditional drums and flutes, along with a cross-cultural academic dialogue. Additionally, artists, critics, and curators from China, the U.S., and South Korea will share their insights into Wang Hao’s artistic world via video presentations.
