Ge and Mask
In Ge and the Mask, an infant sits at the center of the composition, surrounded by accumulated masks. The masks are neither worn nor linked to specific actions; they form the environment itself through piling and suspension. The image is fragmented by irregular structures, where cultural imagery and natural forms coexist yet remain isolated. The infant bears a name, but has not yet entered language or order. Before the child’s arrival, the world has already been divided and left behind. Rather than addressing an event, the work presents an earlier condition—one in which the individual is placed into a structured reality before experience can begin.
