Love of the Ocean 海之恋 – Zhang, Chuanbin 张传斌 – 2011

Love of the Ocean focuses on portraying the nurturing affection of the Ocean Mother toward the nautilus. Bathed in reflected light and shadow, the Ocean Mother radiates infinite compassion and brilliance. The gradual transition of colors from deep to light reveals the organic diversity of the underwater ecosystem while embodying the Ocean Mother’s greatness. With open arms, she embraces her child — and embraces love itself.

Chuanbin Zhang, founder of the Marine World Chinese Painting style, is the Director of the International Marine Culture and Art Communication Research Institute at Nanjing Normal University, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, a member of the China Artists Association, and a Professor at Nanjing Normal University.

He has published several works, including Chuanbin Zhang: Underwater World—Collection of Chinese Paintings, Techniques for Painting Marine Fish, and The Twelve Marine Zodiac Animals.

His artworks have been collected by numerous institutions such as the United Nations Headquarters, the International Olympic Committee, the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, the General Political Department of the PLA, and various art museums.

《海之恋》着重展现出海洋母亲对鹦鹉螺的呵护之情。被反射出光影的海洋母亲的身上有着无尽的慈爱和光芒。由深变浅的色彩呈现出海底生态的有机多元，也将海洋母亲的伟大表现出来。张开臂膀拥抱孩子更拥抱爱！
