Bio of the artist:

Sun Xiaoyun is a leading Chinese calligrapher and cultural figure. She currently serves as President of the China Calligraphers Association and President of the Jiangsu Calligraphers Association. She is also a Counsellor to the Jiangsu Provincial Government, Vice Chairperson of the Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Honorary Director of the Jiangsu Art Museum, and Director of the Institute of Chinese Calligraphy at Nanjing University, where she is a Doctoral Supervisor. Sun Xiaoyun holds the professional title of First-Class Artist and is a recipient of the State Council Special Allowance.

She was a delegate to the 17th, 18th, and 19th National Congresses of the Communist Party of China. Over the course of her career, she has received numerous national honors, including National Model Worker (National Advanced Worker), National Outstanding Professional and Technical Talent, National Artist of Both Moral Integrity and Artistic Excellence, and Advanced Worker of the National Cultural System. She is also among the first cohort of the national “Four Batches” talents in the publicity and cultural system.

Her major awards include the Lanting Award for Chinese Calligraphy (Art Award), the First “Zijin Culture Medal” awarded by the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government, the title of Outstanding Figure of Jiangsu’s 40 Years of Reform and Opening-up, and the Commemorative Medal for the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

作者介绍：孙晓云，中国书法家协会主席，江苏省书法家协会主席，江苏省政府参事，江苏省文联副主席，江苏省美术馆名誉馆长，南京大学中国书法研究院院长，博士生导师，一级美术师，享受国务院特殊津贴。 中共十七、十八、十九大代表。 先后荣获“全国先进工作者”（全国劳模）、“全国杰出专业技术人才”、“全国德艺双馨文艺工作者”、“全国文化系统先进工作者”、全国首批宣传文化系统“四个一批”人才，获中国书法“兰亭奖”“艺术奖”、江苏省委省政府首届“紫金文化奖章”、“江苏省改革开放四十周年先进人物”、“庆祝中华人民共和国成立70周年纪念章”。
