It started with a blank mindset empty of any political/religious, environmental, or social advocating motive. In order to kill the blank panel, images were randomly picked and assembled. One might say viscerally juxtaposed. The design process was allowed to dictate direction. Upon completion, it became apparent how political consciousness still leaked in. It has been said beauty is only skin deep.
Media: Graphite/coloured pencil on art board
Size: (24 x 47 in) 60 x 120 cm
Artist: Victor J. Paluck
Freelanced as a graphic designer/illustrator/photographer in advertising, architecture, animation, and theatre. This experience blended into a career in art education. The essence behind the art is the story, not in a “once upon a time” format but in terms of a message. This can be a personal reflection or take on a political/activist slant. The visual narrative is not about promoting a particular side of the “fence” instead encourage awareness and conversation. Images appear detailed, often manipulated, and compositionally juxtaposed.
