Spring Breeze · Spring Shower

Spring wind brings warmth and vitality, while spring rain nourishes the earth and awakens new life. Through its poetic title, Spring Wind, Spring Rain connects the strength and vitality of horses with the renewal and growth of the season.

Several horses move through fields of luminous colour. A pink-violet horse dominates the foreground, its body extended and its head directed forward with calm determination. Green horses behind it respond through a shared rhythm, connecting the individual forms within a unified movement. Rather than enclosing each horse within sharply defined contours, Tien Chang allows their bodies to merge naturally through colour and brushwork, creating a collective sense of forward energy.

Pink, green, blue, and yellow establish a bright palette filled with the atmosphere of spring. Pink brings warmth and tenderness, green suggests growth, blue creates a feeling of fresh air, and vivid yellow enters the composition like sunlight. The interplay of warm and cool colours gives the work both the strength of moving horses and the lightness and clarity associated with spring.

The fine droplets scattered throughout the composition are an essential part of its visual language. They resemble falling spring rain, suspended moisture, pollen, and points of light, bringing freshness, rhythm, and a gently animated quality to the surface. The horses appear to move through spring wind and rain, while the colours flow and dissolve with their momentum.

Tien Chang uses simplified forms, fluid colour, and spontaneous brushwork to express the horses’ vital resonance and life force. Rather than concentrating on precise physical description, he unites the horses with colour and the atmosphere of nature.

Spring Breeze · Spring Shower portrays more than horses moving together. It expresses renewal, hope, and the continuous growth symbolized by spring. Warm and full of vitality, the work evokes life awakening through nourishment and moving forward through shared energy.
