Swallowtail Joint

This sculpture is made entirely of forged copper, with each assembled structure existing as an independent form. These structures are connected using stainless steel dovetail joints, coming together to express new ideas and symbolizing the interlocking, connection, and synergy of diverse elements in the world.

The "S" shape continues the dynamic contrast found in the Taiji symbol, embodying the fusion of tradition and modernity, strength and grace. It conveys the essence of Eastern philosophy, prompting viewers to reflect on cultural heritage, the meaning of life, and the modular future.

Biography

Xiaoting Chen (Ding Chen) is a member of the China Sculpture Society, a distinguished professor at Wuhan Donghu University, the director of the Beijing Chen Xiaoting Art Museum, and the director of the Xiaoting Chen Sculpture Art Museum in Weifang, Shandong. His extensive body of sculptural works is particularly renowned for urban sculptures. Over the years, he has created more than 200 sculptures, which are now featured in many cities both domestically and internationally, becoming integral parts of their cultural landscapes.

《燕尾榫》

雕塑整体为锻铜材质，其拼接的每一块结构又是独立的形体，这些结构间由不锈钢燕尾榫相连接，组合成了新的思想表达，象征着世界上形形色色事物的卯固、连接与合力。“S”造型是太极图中的动态相对的延续，也是传统与现代、力量与柔美的变化融合，寓意着东方哲学的叙述，从而引发观者对文化传承、生命意义和模块化未来的思考。

个人简介

陈箫汀（陈丁） 是中国雕塑家学会会员，武汉东湖学院特聘教授，北京陈箫汀美术馆馆长，山东潍坊陈箫汀雕塑艺术馆馆长。其个人雕塑作品丰富，尤以城市雕塑见长。历年来，他创作的200余件雕塑作品已遍布国内外众多城市，成为这些城市人文景观的重要组成部分。
