Wild geese fade into the clouds beyond the frontier sky;
sheep return along the ridges, where border grasses lie beneath drifting smoke.
Inscribed in the fifth month of the Gengzi year. A flawed brushwork—after the Gengzi year, the character “zi” should no longer be added.
云边雁断胡天月陇上羊归塞草烟也庚子年五月。败笔，庚子后不能加年子。

Bio of the Artist:

Han Meilin (born 1936 in Jinan, Shandong Province) is a renowned Chinese artist and designer. In 1955, he was admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is a Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the chief designer of the Beijing Olympic Fuwa mascots.

He currently serves as Senior Professor of Humanities at Tsinghua University, Deputy Director of the Tsinghua University Academic Committee, and Doctoral Supervisor. He also holds concurrent positions as Research Fellow at the Central Research Institute of Culture and History, Honorary Director of the Ceramic Art Committee of the China Artists Association, Vice President of the World Chinese Association, and Honorary President of the China Arts and Crafts Society.

作者简介：1936年生，山东济南，1955年考入中央美术学院，全国政协委员、奥运福娃设计师。现为清华大学文科资深教授，清华大学学术委员会副主任、博士生导师，兼任中央文史研究馆馆员、中国美术家协会陶瓷艺术委员会名誉主任、世界华人协会副会长、中国工艺美术学会名誉会长。
